I have the great honor of throwing a wedding shower for my brother and soon-to-be SIL next month and the preparations have already begun! One of the things I’m dreaming up in my head is a backdrop behind the food table so we can have beautiful photos of the day. The backdrop began to take on some real form this week with this custom gold circle garland.
I decided to go for gold to act almost as a neutral and provide a little bit of shimmer and I am not disappointed, I love how it turned out!
Lucky for me, since the wrapping paper was marked with 1″ guide lines, I was able to cut a perfect rectangle. In Silhouette Studio, I chose a circle that was about 1.8″ square and then in the replicate window I used the fill page option.
I cut 8 pieces of fishing line that were about 8′ feet long which gave me about 6′ to add the circles on and plenty of room to tie the circles to the photo backdrop (which has yet to come together). Starting from the bottom of each piece of fishing line, I glued 1 circle pair and then worked my way up, leaving about 1′ between circles and putting 6-7 circles on each line.
(Sorry for the blurry photo, my resident photographer wasn’t home.)
Put glue one circle, place fishing line in the glue, place another circle on top. Repeat.
More shower decor is coming soon!
