A Mid-Century Love Affair

Over Easter weekend we were fortunate enough to pick up an extra piece of furniture from my grandparent’s old farm house. In it’s first life, this piece was a dresser with an attached mirror. Phillip and I were able to remove the mirror from the dresser and fit it in my car with just inches to spare!

Now I have to say, over the past year I’ve fallen in love with mid-century furniture, I mean who could resist these crisp, clean lines?

These to-die-for recessed handles??

And these curvy cone-shaped legs?

This dresser now has a new life in my dining room as sideboard/buffet next to my bar cart and I couldn’t be happier!

It rests, neatly tucked behind our counter-height dining room table.

Right now I’m dreaming of 2 long floating shelves to hang above it like this one from Ikea. . .

Or even something like this. . .

So what do you think? Do you have a specific style of furniture that just makes your heart swoon?
